The Mar Thoma Church of Montreal is part of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church, an autonomous protestant christian church based in Kerala, India. The Church is part of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, one of the ancient Churches in the world. The Church believes in Jesus Christ, the God incarnate for the redemption of humankind, and in the Triune God revealed by him, who himself is one among the Trinity. The Church accepts the Holy Bible as the basis for all matters of faith and doctrine. The Church is under the care of the Diocese of North America, and was established as a parish in 1984 and subsequently obtained registered charitable trust status in Canada.
